Yes, I’m telling you to Take It Off! There are 5 looks that you should absolutely stop putting on your body. These fashion trends are so tired and need to be put to sleep. I’ll start with the most offensive:
1) Boring Brown Boots
…is a fashion epidemic. When did brown boots take over the universe? It is so tired. Even more offensive is when styled with dark skinny jeans and a puffy vest. Stop. It’s become some kind of cute girl uniform. Didn’t we realize that we all looked alike? We have to find a better way to style our boots. Let us update by opting for an over the knee look or going with a light tan suede boot. And be aware of the quality of your boots. Nothing looks worse than a cheap vinyl pair of Hans Solo-looking shit kickers. Let’s step it up, ladies!
2) I Woke Up Like This T – Shirts
Except you didn’t.
You woke up like this:
So cut it out with the false advertising.
3) The Bubble Necklace
While statement necklaces are still reigning supreme, these damn things are not. Give them to your daughter or niece to play dress up with but please do not put this on your body. Oh, you have one in every color do you? Sorry to burst your candy colored bubble, but it’s a no.
4) The Leather Harness
Are you a horse? No? Are you performing in a Rhianna music video? No? Okay then, you can forget about attempting to pull this look off effortlessly. It’s not possible. You will look uncomfortable because you will be. Leave this look for the editorial pages and equestrians.
5) Cut-Out Shoulder Tops
If this look feels unfinished, it’s because it is. I’d like to buy a whole shirt, thank you very much. The peek-a-boo shoulder is not the new side boob. The especially long cut outs just ruin the silhouette. It looks choppy and cheesy in most cases. Keep your sleeves and hang this look up for good!
So, Take It Off, ladies!
While everyday can’t be a fashion show, it makes us feel good when we look put together. Our outer appearance is usually a reflection of how we feel on the inside. I want you to do you and be fly as hell. Just with great boots, truth, cool necklaces, no harnesses, and whole shirts.
Be A Fashion Do (But Please Don’t Say On Fleek),
